What about velcro straps in the headliner. Just an idea.

i use these and some velcro straps i made to hold the poles in place. it works great. no worry about hitting the rods/ reels when putting boat motor and the cooler in back.

Hey guys, I am new here, and I know this post is a little old, but I was looking for somewhere to put a rod&reel or two, just if I feel the random need to go fishing (which happens often, haha) and this is what I came up with the other day, dont know if it works for anyone else. All it is is a broom handle mount from a local hardware store with the middle of the pole held on by the little coat hangers on the overhead handles. Baitcaster fit perfectly above my spare tire, no mount needed

Im pretty sure theyre 5 1/2. I dont know if it was that particular speaker or if they were a size too big, but I had to cut some of the speaker bar to make em fit. But i got em for free, so complaints there, haha
