Leecarr do you have a manual for your trailer? I have a Military TM in Adobe format if you need it I can send it to you. I have been looking high and low for a handle like that.

This trailer belongs to a friend of mine that built his a while back, but he has since sold it.

That is a sweet setup. I did a quick search and found this http://www.easternsurplus.net/images...pares/5054.JPG
I have a skid steer loader and a hi lift forklift with the same handle set up so I know they can be had. I'll keep looking (now I'm on a mission) the surplus one is a bit pricey. Try a tractor or farm equipment place if there is one near by. I'd love to have a copy of the manual , thanks. I don't know how handy you are but you could make one out a cheap over center type chain binder.

I'd like to think i'm pretty handy, but then again, my garage and all my tools are back in VA, I am now in El Paso, TX. The best thing I have available to me right now is the Auto Shop on Fort Bliss.

PM me your email address and Ill send you the manual.

Do a search for over center brake handle, found a couple.

Isn't there something on Fort Bliss that you can "liberate" one from?
Like I said you can always put a cheapo binder in the place of the turn buckle and a couple of fairly stiff springs on the cables and go with that.

Yeah we have those over hand brake handles on our new trailers. They are huge when compared to the little M416. I think I'll go with the mini binder you showed me from Home Depot.

I got bored today so i fabbed up some mounting brackets for my Hilift jack out of some steel Strong-Ties from Lowes. Then mounted it to my tool box.

Ok, now I think I'm done.

Never done, my youngest son is in the NG, he spent a year in Afghanistan. Made it home safe (but some days I want to shoot him myself). We need more of you guys not less. When you won a war hundreds of years ago you took the other guys stuff, whatever happened to that.

They are out there, you can find them cheap like me and Leecarr did but will require a lot of work, OR, buy someone's project, in which case it will cost you anywhere up to $6000. Google M416 and check the links, people do some wild things with these trailers.

What happened was that "we" started playing by the rules so as not to be viewed as a bully.

This isnt part of the Fab but Detour wants to see.

She is still at home in VA Beach. The bottom pic is at a car show on Route 66 in Barstow, CA when I was stationed at Fort Irwin. I bought her on Ebay 6 years ago, has a 383 w/700R4 trans.

Rules were made to be broken, and as sad as it sounds the bully usually wins.
