Here are some more pictures.
Here is the turnbuckle parking brake setup. It can be done by hand but it will hold even better using a 5/8" wrench.

Here is the Army M998 Hummer Pioneer Kit I installed under the front of the tub. This was a LEGAL purchase from the DRMO surplus yard in Norfolk, VA. Just saying....

This is the suspension. That rear spring mount had to be fabbed. The original was rusted to the point of FUBAR. This is before I installed the new springs. The springs and shocks are for a 1950s CJ-3 and/or CJ-5

and the rear 2" receiver I hacked up and attached for my bike carrier. I bolted it in to make it removable. But this forum gave me an idea of making a spare tire carrier that can attach there. dunno

thats a little different style brake you got there... i will take some pics when i get back to work on the park brake handle set up we use on our ammo trailers..the handles are cheap..like 20 bucks and work just like a park brake handle, nice and fast. Current issue for the usmc.

yeah i had been looking for those brake handles. I couldnt find a supplier. I didnt want to get to texas and park it at my aunt's house without some type of parking brake so i came up with that the day before i drove across country.
Domaas, Where in Oceanside are you? I used to live there when I was in USMC from 1992-1996. I also checked your build thread and saw that Baja Bug. Is it yours, does it race? I hooked up with a bunch of guys out there in Escondido and race a few races down in Baja series and the Fudpucker series. Memories that will last a life time.

This is the original parking brake set up, these handles are still used on farm & heavy equipment. Shouldn't be to hard to find and I've seen the trailers in Military Vehicle magazine. A real nice one could cost near $1000.00 though and shipping could be expensive depending on how close it is (I know it needs paint, also on the list).
