Default Exhaust: need ideas/help

Hello, I recently chopped off my exhaust from the cat back to convert it to a straight pipe. I decide to just put a bent tailpipe peice were I cut it off, under the middle of the jeep, till I get a chance to fabricate the rest of the exhaust. My brother said the the gas would eventually melt the gas lines a the gas circulates up near the tank. I just need to know if that is something I have to worry about. I woulod be open to any ideas/suggestions. I really like the sound (thinking about keepping it that way), just want to make sure what I have now is safe.

"The gas would eventually melt the gas lines?"

Do you mean the fumes would eventually melt the gas lines??
If so, that will not happen. I dont reccommend keeping it like that though. It is more than likely (depending on state laws) too loud and also, it is a law to have the tail pipe end after the passenger compartment.

but it does sound good! i know what ya mean, i am running straight pipe from a header, with no cat, and she does sound good. i say that you should at least get it behind you rear doors, just so that your passengers don't get exhausted lol.
