does the XJ track bar really need a bend in it?
or can it just be straight?
I am planning to build one pretty soon, either using a heim and a bushing or a pair of bushings
will also be making a nfrom ew mount and a support brace that goes rail to rail

I think youre right... as long as the mounting points for the track bar and drag link are in the same plane youre good. The factory track bar has a bend in it to clear the diff housing, but with enough lift and the right bumpstops the track bar could be completely straight. But im pretty sure that with all the bumpstopping you would need that your uptravel would be very limited

my track bar is completely straight. i am using 1.5x1/4 wall tubing and 3/4 heims.
i have 6 inches of lift, and it clears every thing at full stuff. i do not have any bump stopping. no limited travel here.

if you use the stock mount on the axle youll need a bend to clear the housing.
if you weld a new axle mount above the axle tube sort of like on the rustys kit then you can use a strait track bar.
