Deer-dozer front bumper
Yeah I see what you mean with the cad drawings.. before I potentially tear off what I have so far do you think there's anyway I could reinforce what I have already? I know im just using 1/8" but the metal used in the frame rails is thinner than that even..

the metal used at the frame rails is thinner, yes. but with the load spread you you can yank and possibly hang the cherokee of it.
I run that bumper mount design with a 3/8" (way over kill) bumper and I have slammed the entire front end down on the ends, middle, yanked people of situations you name it and it has not caused any issues. most aftermarket bumpers use a min of 5 mounting holes

im just jumping in here, but im with everyone else on this. it looks really good but needs some serious strengthening if you plan on using it.
i would definitely take a close look at this.
I am up to 5 mounting holes per side, 10 total. I know I need to run some more bracing off the mounts I have on there (to distribute any load and or impact across the bumper). My thoughts are I'll stiffen this up as it is now and then if or when it gets ripped off I'll use the mounts from the cad drawing next time.. the jeep is still my ride to work everyday so if I'm in a situation where I'm hanging by my front bumper or smashing it off trees and rocks then I'm an idiot.. can't afford to beat up the old girl that much

But strengthening the bumper you have now (like with an angle that runs length wise mount to mount) would be good and keep weight down
Haha well I haven't done any crawling or serious off roaring with it yet but its getting to the point where I want to start making some mods to make it more capable, then I'll start pushing its limits. I appreciate the critiquing though, helps make me a better fabricator and gives me a better end product, I still have a lot to learn...
Keep you posted with the progress

Progress... pretty much done with the welding end of this project.. all that's left is the grinding / sanding / painting. I've pretty much decided on going a different route and throwing a pair of lights in the middle grill area, probably just mount them right to the top plate of the bumper. I'm pretty happy with how its turning out.. didn't get an official weight yet but I'm guessing right around 100lbs.
