dented roof

I just purchased a '98 Cherokee and the previous owner strapped a tire to the roof as a spare. He set the tire down directly on the roof, causeing the roof to sag or dent. When I took the tire off the roof, it didn't pop back up. Does anyone have any idea how to get the roof to pop back up?
