all i used was i think a 3" elbow, and a pod style k&n filter with the same size opening. i have the part # if you need it. i think the filter was about $40, and the elbow was free. i also cut the side out of the old filter housing to act as a heat shield. i didnt know about the pod style breather filters, i drilled my elbow, and screwed a barb to pipe nipple and ran a new breather hose.

i can take some pics tomm. it is acually a large filter. it basically take place of the entire air box, it just barely fits. i have to sqeeze it past the radiator cap in order to get it into place

Oh so it's that really long K&N filter. I gotcha. I was wondering why you had only one piece of tubing for the whole intake lol makes sense now

depending on what it is(not to knock your find), but i havent had good luck with the cheap ebay intakes, they price sounds good until you install it and its louder than the v8 diesel engine, and the parts dont fit worth a crap. mine was a pipe, boot, and k&n kit. cant remember the seller, but a diy would still be cheaper to do it right the first time, i had to go through a few ebay cheapo's to find that out.

I got my set up on ebay for 20, came with a rubber adaptor for carb (total crap) and a 3" tube and a K&N filter, I had it free in the engine compt for a while but then I had an apifiney, if its just sucking all the air from arround the engine and mud and bugs, whats the point of a cold air intake?. So I modified my stock airbox to house my K&N setup and its amazing! draws air from behind passenger headlight and is protected from bugs, rocks, mud, and heat unless they come behind the headlight. my next project will be to seal off the port in the airbox which air comes in and install piping to make a snorkel kind of, I would love to draw air from inside the cab
but anyway, now im just ranting
20$ total on mine

i built my air intake with the parts at autozone lol. for the filter, a bit of pipe, and a baby filter for that other random vacuum hose connected to the airbox (it leaked oil into airfilter and all up in the throttle body idk why..)i spent like 40$ and i just cut out grooves in the stock airbox to hold it in there good. its legit, sounds tight. saved 250$ ahah.

here is one pic I took a whle ago, basically I got that 3" diameter metal piping and I attaches it to the stock carb hosing attachment. its the perfect size to push it straight in and then I used the clamp already on there and then put another SS clamp on to make sure there were no air leaks, oh ya and wrap it with insulation. then I took the cover off the airbox and you have to gestimate the hole that youre going to cut and the angle that your K&N will fit in there. mine is tight but fits nice. I just have to attach my carb attachment to carb last which puts tension on the filter and tubing. not a bad thing though. on the airbox lid make small cuts because you dont want gaping holes or really any at all. the hole will be more of an oval because the piping comes in at an angle.
