ok its been over a year since i worked on my car, it was supposed to go to this mechanic when he had time, but never happened. so a few weeks ago, i started taking it apart to see the timing chain. finally got the cover off and the chain is kinda loose and off time.
( which is good cause i wouldnt know what else is wrong with it.) crankshaft arrow is at the 12 oclock position, which is right, camshaft arrow is at the 12 oclock postition which is wrong, supposed to be at 6 oclock. and not sure about those dots, there isnt any colored spot on the chain to check that out. so i ordered most of the parts tonight to put it back together from advance. 113 bucks worth.
after discount.

well it seemed like the car ran better to me,but stepson said it sounds like its missing, plus there is a weird clunk coming from somewhere, sounds like around cylinder #1. we pulled the plug wire off #1 and no change in the motor. and #3 and no change with that one either,
when #2 was pulled the motor ran kinda crappy. so plug #1 and #3 sparked real good, pistons moved up and down, but no explode inside.so maybe bented valves, which means im screwed.
my jeep is falling apart,it needs work bad.runnin out of money.

ok cars runnin great!
turns out i had the #1 plug wire and #3 wire switched on the coilpack and i guess plugs too
' since last year when i was trying to figure out what was wrong.old coil pack was rusty and rust ran halfway up a few wires. i got my plate sticker and just have to go pay for new insurance. so it shifted fine and it was the timing chain that jumped. and loose.
