Default Dads 66 mustang

So my dad has been having a few minor issues with his 66 mustang and I was hoping some one here might have some insight.

First what annoys him the most is the 80% if the time after he uses his right blinker and completes his turn instead of turning off it skips off and starts blinking for the left, my thoughts is if it has a combo switch like the xj it could just be worn out and need to be replaced.

The other issue is when he's driving 65, 70 mph his driver side wiper will flip up about 1/4 of the way up his window, and he either has to reach around the window to get it back or turn them on for one round. You can reach under the dash and feel and move the same blade the same distance manually by playing with the arms.

Any help is appreciated guys and gals thanks

I would say the first problem is in the turn signal switch. Part of the plastic switch must be broken so when the right turn is completed it doesn't have a "stop" and continues over to the left. Or the spring is broken on the switch on one side.

X2 on the blinker. And the wiper arm, is either the mounting spline or spline socket on arm is worn out. If that is the case, a new arm should fix that. Wiggle the wiper arm up and down, to see where the slop is.

It feels like its right at the wiper motor but only the driver side has the slop in it the passenger side doesn't move unless the wipers are on, maybe I just need to replace the wiper motor and hope that works for him.

Isn't there a spring in the wiper arm itself that's supposed to keep it tight against the glass?

The wiper linkage has pivot bushings on them. Im not too familiar with the particular design but you might try to look up under there and check the bushings real good. There is a good chance that you can replace the bushings without buying the whole linkage/trans assy.
