It's about the same track width..
I've seen many done using a XJ as a donor.
I also know of a father son pair that both have 4 door Blaszers (S10 style) with SAS's done. One used a JK D44 front and coiled it using the stock brackets and the other used a Waggy 44 and did leafs.
Before my buddy's S10 Blazer was foudn to be beyond repair I had been planning a lift with it using a XJ as a donor for the axles and set the lift so I could always use a XJ lift kit down the road.
It's not as hard a job as some think..

To run coils you'll need to fab up the coil mounts on the body/frame of the vehicle. and depending on the donor vehicle axles i'm sure you can use the stock axle perches if you do go with the right axle

I've seen it done on a Ford Ranger. The coil buckets lined up and used the same size coils as the dana 30, it was sick. They also used a y-link radius arm set-up. It was an easy swap.
