Best 4x4 ever
x2
My 89 Ford Bronco is a beast and tows my uncle's bass boat like nothing is behind it. I just view it as my armageddon destroy everything in it's path vehicle. My Bronco has totaled two cars with little more than a scratch sustained to the bumper. If I ran into any car with my XJ the way the Bronco hit those cars I'd expect to not having a working XJ anymore.

Mercedes Unimog (at least in countries other than the US they're more prevalent).
Another "great" one that is oft overlooked is the Steyr-Puch Pinzgauer
Outside of those, I would have to vote land cruiser, CJ5/7, and perhaps powerwagon and K5

the gresham rock crawl in 2008 Proved to me that the old Bronco's were too similer to and Wrangler, the Short wheelbase makes them Less capable then something a little longer, I dont feel a XJ is any more Capable then a ZJ. or a SAS Explorer etc.. but the short wheelbase Is rendered Useless in Rocks/rutts in my neck of the woods.
4 bronco's 2 scoutii's 9 wranglers, 4 XJ's and a partridge and a pear tree, the only rigs that made it front to back were XJ's. all the others got winched off the rocks.

Fords hands down are the best off-road rigs. Broncos are great for the family and used in all types of terrain. Ford trucks/broncos can use all the same parts for a wide spread of years and you can beat the crap out of them and they still keep going.
Sure Broncos dont have the wide range of aftermarket stuff for them but you can do ALOT with a little imagination. I have yet to meet a jeep I cant follow. Dont get me wrong the 4.0 is a GREAT motor. But there is something to be said about a big block V-8. If the 351W isnt right just throw in a 460

Purely stock, I would say XJ's have it as far as SUV's go. Decent power, solid axles, decent mileage, parts are everywhere, roomy.
Truck/suv I would probably say Older full size GM trucks/K5 Blazer, newer Ram's with CTD and SFA.

Sorry Chevy guys, but GM has never made any thing worth a krapp!!
Oh wait, GM did make the 14 bolt. But they're only good when they're in a Jeep!
