Default Zj steering problem

Finally took my 93 grand Cherokee down the road for the first time today and the steering was loose like I was turning but it wasn't doing anything and was really unbalanced. The steering was bad it was all over the road. Any help

I would start with checking the tie rod and drag link ends. If there worn that could cause allot of play in the steering.

mine was sloppy like that 'til i replaced the tie rod ends/drag link ends. i also needed ball joints so i went ahead and did that too.

may also check your track bar and sway bar bushings.

Tie rod and drag link are an easy fix. But I'm just tell ya right now that changing ball joints SUCK. I literally just changed mine last week. Its not fun even with the rights tools.

you'll want to get a front end alignment when you're done replacing parts.

if you can afford it, avoid the cheap chinese stuff. i went with napa but it wasn't cheap. then again there was no shipping and if something breaks, i can fuss at somebody's face.

you can look on rockauto.com and get a good idea of the different grades and prices.

this may be helpful just to understand what is what:
