I was looking through some pictures on google and found this:
How do you take off the body panels like they did to their ZJ in this pic?? The ones that are on the bottom of the doors.

I've never pulled them off on my ZJ but the factory trim on my XJ was held on by what looked like two sided tape. some trim pieces have clips that go into holes in the body. if the ZJ trim is held on by those, you would have to fill weld the holes if you removed the trim.

I saw a ZJ in the local pick-n-pull that had one of the panels taken off. There are some slots in the panels that slide into/over some little nail-head type posts in the door. I don't know if it was the same for all years but the panels on my '95 are like that (one is loose, you can see inside). It slides around a little so I don't think mine is taped down in any way.

When you take the cladding off there are little pins/rivets attached to the door/body and if you remove them there are holes left you have to fill in.

I don't think the filling would be too hard would it? Would I have to fill weld the holes or could i lay some bondo over it because ill be painting it soon anyway so I think bondo could work.

I pulled mine on my old ZJ..

There is nothing to fill. The rivets just need to be ground off, primed and sanded..
