I have been chasing a slow leak on my radiator for a long while now. I got it fixed for the most part BUT I still leak from this plug. I didn't have the hex tool to tighten it so I carefully used channel locks. I felt it tighten a little so I stopped. Should I remove and put locktite or thread sealant on it? Should I mound plumbers apoxy around it? I just don't understand its purpose.

Don't mess with unless you want to replace the whole radiator. Scuff it up and cover the seams with an epoxy or JB Weld.

JMHO, but I'd try some PVC cement first. Just remove the cap and suck some out to get it dry as much as possible first. That stuff will wick into the joint and slightly melt the plastic to seal it.

Will he or won't he make the full round trip...only the Jeep gods know. Stay tuned for the next installment of "How the Crank Turns".

I didn't do it. Mainly because my 7 year old daughter was making the trip with me.

More about new problems on my main thread.
