gonna order a crate motor this week. i have $2500(max) i looked at s and j engines and powertrain produsts. would love a 4.6 stroker but the money itnt there. what companys have you guys used for a crate motor good and bad. when i drop the motor in do you guys sugest i change anything out like the water pump, injestors, ect?

 

I have not ever ordered a crate motor just rebuilt them But Yes I would change water pum oil pump and the new one should come with a new timing chain if not get one of those. and while its out go ahead and change out the freeze plugs to brass ones. Idf its the 4.0 make sure you have a brass freeze plug on the back of youe head if anything you dount wanna have to pluu the head to change that. lol Alost a good time to flush the rad. and clean out that engine bay. Hope this helps any

 

I've used engines from Jaspers before with good results and a pretty decent warranty too.
