I would say the easiest way is to take a high pressure hose, and spray around the passenger side and in the wheel well. At that point you can track the water back to where it is coming from.

There are 2 sources of water (not coolant) that get onto the floor on that side. The A/C condensate drain and the seal around the heater/AC box where it bolts to the firewall. There is also the possibility that the windshield seal is leaking or the radio antenna fitting is loose. Most of the time it's the condensate drain that is plugged.
If it's coolant, it's the heater core.

I'd say it's related to your a/c drain vent being clogged and backing up onto your carpet. Your a/c drains on the upper left side of the passenger foot area thru the floor board.
Go underneath your truck with a pipe cleaner and look for a hose in that area with about an 1/8 the inch opening. Run the pipe cleaner up into it and see if some water runs out along with some fungus.
This is one of the most common causes.
If it were your heating core, you'd smell
Anti freeze.

Hey I had water in the floor boards in my 99 like most have mentioned my issue was the condensation drain on the plenum when the a/c ran my passenger floorboard turned into a small swimming pool my issue wasn't that it was clogged but that there was no elbow on it under the hood and water was trickling back against the firewall eventually rotted out the foam rubber gasket between the plenum and firewall I replaced the gasket and installed an elbow on the drain to keep it from trickling back problem fixed. I used the largest rubber pipe insulation not the foam one from lowes to make the gaskets it was the closest thing I could find to the same material cost me 2-3 bucks and a day of my time pulling the dash to access the plenum hope this helps
