Check the plugs on the PCM. they can rattle loose or get a corroded pin connector.

Default 2002 Cherokee 4.0 HELP

Thanks for all the replies. I finally figured out the problem. Apparently when the new cam sensor was installed it was put in 3or4 teeth off. I was told by the owner that a known good mechanic put the sensor in and knew what he was doing. Truck runs great now. They even had it at the dealership, cant believe they couldn't figure it out.....

The problem is when they pulled it, they took out the oil pump drive gear as well. That had to be retimed. The sensor comes out easily leaving the gear still in and timed. The "Good mechanic" didn't do it right and the dealership thought he did.

Welcome to CF, BTW!

It seems that its the simple ones that cause the most problems at times and the most challenging when its an "Operator or Installer" malfunction's.

Been there done that more times than I care to admit.
