No, it was coming in from either the crack between the hood and the fender or from windshield runoff. The seam was not visible from under the car unless the wheel well liner (part you would see with the wheel removed) was taken off.

I may as well check this out. I have looked at all other possible solutions without success. The sunroof drain I cleared the other day was not the culprit. We have had a series of storms here lately and the passenger side floor is flooded again. The weird part is that I can't see it running down from anyplace since it stopped coming in from the antenna gromet. I thought I had this licked twice already. Thanks

Default Water leaks onto passenger floorboard

Hello all, I had a water leak and gave up on finding it because I suspected the dashboard would need to come out. I wish some of you would pay attention when reading a post because I've gone through this thread and people keep getting directed to the ac drain when they describe heavy rain being the only time water is present on their passenger floorboard. 2000 jeep laredo here and when it rains I'd have at least an inch of water on passenger side floorboard. In my particular case, it wasn't until I removed the dash to access hvac box that I decided I need to find this leak. On the passenger side, there's a body seam that cracked and had a hole in it large enough to almost put my pinky into. I had to pull back the firewall mat a little bit to expose it. I took a pic and would happily share it but I don't want to go through the trouble of using a 3rd party pic host. In closing, thank you, because if not for the conversations taking place on this forum as well as many other forums I'd probably pull my hair out diagnosing vehicles. I find a problem and I hit the forums to see what people are experiencing and talking about. So thanks again.

Nice pics! Ya know, I think I've got something like that going on with my WJ! It leaks heat from the engine compartment. My mechanic, (and he's good!) had the dash out twice to replace a heater core because we installed a defective one. I've had heat leaking out from under the dash for 3 years and it seems to correspond with engine temp. It's not coming thru the heater ducts and only seems to be on the driver's side. It never leaks any water, just heat. When the heater core blew, I bypassed the hoses and still got the heat from under the dash. My A/C doesn't work so in the summer my ***** sweat up quite nicely! My thought was the seal around the steering column, but I haven't check that yet. The cables and wires seem to be sealed.

I have a 2000 Laredo with the same problem. A half inch of water on the passenger side and only when it rains. I have never seen the inside of a jeep with the dash removed, so I don't have any idea what I'm looking at. Do I have to remove the dash to see this gap?

I have a 96 xj I am new to the site and I know that this has probably been addressed before, how every I am pulling my hair out trying to find the water leak on the passengers floor board. I have sealed around the blower motor and body seams. But when I run water down the cowling on the driver side water leaks on to the passenger floor it appears to be coming from around the fan motor gasket. I have also ran water on the windshield with no leak . Is there a fresh air vent opening under the cowling ? If so how could I check it for the leak ? And if it is the culprit how can I seal it? Just to let you know this happens just sitting not running so it’s not the AC and of course it leaks when it rains
Thanks in advance for any help.
Jim
