Default Water in the floor board

Howdy guys and gals.

Hey I have run into a problem that I can`t seem to solve.

My wife has a 96 grand cherokee with about 120k miles on the clock

We started getting moisture in the pass side floor. at first it was very small amounts. Now the carpet is saturated. The only time it happens is when we run the A\C. I started checking and sure enough when her jeep is running with theA\C on there is no water dripping under the vehicle like other cars. So I figured no problemo just a plugged up drain, a coat hanger should fix her problem.

But, where in the heck is the drain? I looked under the car, nothing there. I looked on the fire wall, nothing there. Shouldn`t there be a rubber hose or some sort of tubbing sticking out some where for the water to drain out?

Does any one have a clue as to where the a\c drain is located?

Thank You in advance or any help.

Ed

Maybe leaking in your windshield ....you need to pull up your carpet noww and see if the padding is wet if so tear out padding. Mold issues plus rust problems can follow

Use the search, there are several threads on what/ where/ why, and how to remedy the AC drain problem. My 97 GC had the same problem... ; )

The hose will be under the dash.Feel for the water or get on your back with a light.Should not be hard to find. With the AC and engine running of course. If you still can not find it.Have some one lay there while you are driving.

Good luck

No the windshield is sealed fine. It never leakes in a rain storm. Only when she runs the a\c.

But thanks. And yes we are going to have to deal with dampness and mold. Was thinking og making a weak bleach water solution and spraying the padding and the back of the carpet just to kill any mold. It being a charcoal gray I can`t but bleach on the top side. Thanks again

Thats what I was looking for. Dang, it`s no wonder I couldn`t find an exit drain tubing. But I do have a really good cut off tool and some new cutting wheels. My wife also says thank you. I`ll let every one know how this turns out for us in a few days. It`s been cool her for a week but is supposed to get back into the high eighties and maybe the 90`s.
Thanks again ol"blue
