Default warning lights flicker

While driving along, I noticed the warning lite icons on the instrument cluster will flash on and off at random (all at the same time). Motor does not cut out and only one key hanging from the ignition switch. I tried to wiggle the ign. switch to try and duplicate bumps, etc. and nothing. This is on my '06 Cherokee Lerado.

Does it happen if your dimmer switch is at half as opposed to all the way bright?

Replacing the ignition switch seems to be a common resolution, seen a few threads on this on other forums. Only takes about 30 mins to do

Also, it could be the multifunction switch. I believe you have to remove three torx screws and another two that hold the switch on

I thought the same thing being the ign, switch. My daughter just bought this jeep and on her first night drive with it she noticed it. I'll try different positions on the dimmer switch and if no change then I'll replace the ing. switch.

The dash dimmer has nothing to do with the warning lights. They come on during starting or the "bulb test" position which is just past "run" but before "start". I think it's an ignition switch malfunction.

To check the "bulb test", with it running, turn the ignition a slight bit toward "start" but stop before the starter engages. All the warning lights should come on. Releasing the key should turn them off.

The warning lights on the dash problem are happening more frequent, especially when its cold outside and as the interior warms, the problem goes away, makes sense.
I'm going to replace the ignition switch, I saw a video on you tube where they show how to do this, but its in Russian (I think) and video has poor light quality. Can anyone shed some pointers on this 2006 ign. switch job?

Glad to hear, did it get rid of the U1411?

The code was removed from the memory along with the CEL turned off one day before I did the switch. So far so good. I also replaced all the filters, new spark plugs, serp. belt, oil and filter. I'm jealous, this little jeep is a sweet ride and runs so smooth, compared to my 1997 Ford F-350, crew cab long bed, 4x4, 73.L turbo diesel.
