Default wacky locks

My locks on the 93 are acting weird:

The driver side never locks by either switch. It "flinches", but don't lock. I gotta do it by hand.

The driver lock switch locks all the other doors, except the hatch.

The passenger door switch locks all the doors, even the hatch. But does not unlock any other door except itsself and the hatch.

It seems random how they are working. Is this a common thing? Just wondering before I get out in the cold and rip wiring apart. Can't wonder what doors are locking everytime I park.

The security system is bypassed via grounding.

Hey Nukin'

Before i was baptised into this whole Jeep thing, I owned a Ford Expedition and it was giving me the same problems. I pulled off the door panels and lubricated all the joints and moving parts in the door locking mechanisms. That seemed to do the trick, at least while i owned the truck.

Your Jeep is 17-ish years old. Not saying that this is the fix, but at least make sure everything is moving freely. Maybe your door lock actuators are getting old and are too weak to move sticking rods and levers. Its worth a check.

Could be I guess. I know that isn't the case for the rear, I had that all apart not long ago for something else and it was all in great shape. It wasn't working right previous to that, for the record.

Hey Nukin'! where you been? I had a whine in my jeep the other day, but I pulled over and made her get out!

Jeeps are the pits! Once you own one, you can't do without!

I've had about enough electrical problems lately, I think I'll buy an old CJ and fix 'er up!

No, man. My driver's door won't lock except with the key, but I figure that's a burned out actuator. My hatch won't lock ever. Even the key won't go in. I get nervous when I park it anywhere but in my driveway. The security system works, but I'm nervous about using it because my battery in the key fob went dead and I couldn't start it until I replaced it. Luckily, the horns are burned out so I didn't wake the neighbors!

Where do you place the ground to eliminate the system? As far as security goes, a hidden switch in the fuel pump circuit works well.
