Regular is right, probably just getting that bad mpgs because of plugs or something like that. I was getting 10mpg when I bought my wj but changed the plugs soon after now o get about 16 most the time

If you've got the V8 option don't expect much as far as mpg is concerned.

A higher octane rating won't improve your gas mileage.

Do a tune up. Otherwise, drive like a grandma. Lol, it's a v8, don't expect good mpg, I drive highway mostly.

I only use mid-grade to avoid fuel line freeze-up in the winter

Octane will not raise or lower the freezing piont of gasoline.

Come back and tell us how much you love your Cherokee when the gas hits $4.50-$5.00 a gallon. LOL.....

Really. I had an Expedition to with the 5.4l the year that gas went up to $4 a gallon. I paid $100 for a tank once and I said never again. So i got rid of it. I love riding in a truck, but I love feeding my family more.

That is the same thing I did, but my l ast tank was $120, was filling up tank up to twice a week plus paying financing on the vehicle. Is when the gas hit $5 per gallon. But I loved that car.
