Default Transmission pan gasket and filter

Do the transmission pan and trans filter each have their own gasket? I ordered a fel pro for what i thought was the trans pan but now I'm no so sure, any clarification is much appreciated.

Trans filter has it's own gasket stuck to it. The best pan gasket is a Mopar dealer item that's reusable many times with no sealer required. It's a sandwich of steel and neoprene. Mine has 4 fluid changes on it.

Thank you, I found a mopar filter on amazon but people were saying it didn't come with a gasket. Would this be the one you are referring to...

Oops, sorry I misread your comment, above is a filter Im looking at which requires no extra gasket? Comes as part of it? I already have a fel pro trans pan gasket, I've read they're just as good, guess we'll see.

That one has a rubber grommet type seal.

Hm, maybe I'll pair a mopar pan gasket with the above filter and just save the felpro one in case I need it. Think that would be wiser?

Listen. You'd better go to a dealer and check which part number is the right one. My mechanic did my last change and his parts supplier sent the wrong one so we had to wait with it up on the lift until he brought the right one.

I think Imma risk it, both the Mopar filter above and the reusable mopar gasket I've just found say they go to the 42re on multiple websites.
