transmission gasket can you help??

transmission gasket can you help??
just wondering i just got my jeep and the guy i got it from said it was a gasket from my tranny that been makin it leak tranny fluid i looked it up seen maybe it could be from the trany fluid pan but it seems like its not from there does anyone know were else there might bee a gasket i can post pictures , i havent been able to since right now i only had it for a short time

Okay, there are a couple of other sources that I can think of. It could be a cooling line leak, a torque convertor seal, or an output shaft seal (between the trans and t/case). it could be as simple as the o-ring on the dipstick tube.
The best thing to do is wash it down, start it up, and watch it. The output shaft seal will probably only leak while being driven and should show up at the drain hole on the t/case adapter flange. If you find it IS the trans pan, buy a Mopar re-usable gasket. It's a sandwich of steel and rubber. A bit pricey, but worth every penny.
Also, post your vehicle, year, engine, and t/case so we'll know what we're talking about
