Default switching sides-xj to a zj need some help!

ok first off I been a owner of 3 Cherokees and I found a grand Cherokee and bought it. I want to try something new.

what I bought;

1996 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo
224,850 miles
5.2L 318ci
D30-D44a
infinity gold
full factory skid plates...F,M,R
3:73 gears tow package with hitch
factory tow hooks
super clean for my area
small budget boost 2'' lift

Now im new to grands and I believe the 5.2 have a 44re?
today we hooked it up to a dbII scanner and she spit out torque converter solenoid bad..... HELP!!!

other things I need help with and yes ive looked but no cigar is the over head counsel...It lights up and I can cycle thru all the different settings but theey are not reading or showing any info and the compass is stuck on N.... do I have to manually set or configure the overhead to display its reading??? if I hold the one button I can get the OHD to read CCD???

the DBII showed the fog lights were disabled so we enabled them...says the relay is working and the fog light switch lights up green we pushed but the fog lights don't work....

My dash lights come on but are super dim....we I press the headlight switch to the left they brighten up... head light switch or dimmer switch???

also the button on the rear hatch to pop the window does not work clues on that would be great!!

NP231 swap will be getting done ASAP!

anywho picked her up for $800.00

I've had 2 ZJs. All I can really say is welcome to the world of extra stuff that doesn't work. You'll get used to it.

I have a 2000 WJ with a lock-up converter that won't lock-up. The tranny shifts fine and OD works so I'm stretching it out before I go for a rebuild. After driving it for 2 months all that's happened is I've lost about 2 mpg.

My only question is if it will pass inspection here in NY because of the CE light. The problem is not emissions related.

I assume you had the code checked with a scanner and the light didn't go off after?

The 5.2's are notorious for burning oil. It could be the start of this problem, I would just keep and eye on your levels and if they slowly dissipate well then you found your issue. But just an idea could be something else.

Check the oil drains in the heads. The oil doesn't drain back fast enough so the valve seals on the two rear cylinders are submerged in oil. When you park it, this oil has time to drain into the cylinders resulting in your blue puff of smoke on start-up.

This is a common Chevy problem. Everybody used to say, "Your valve seals are shot". Not so. Just clean out the drains. On Chevy small block V8s, the drains are only a 3/8" drilled hole.

Probably the plenum pan leaking. Very common on the magnum v8s.
