Starts but dies right away

I have a 2004 jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo special edition. It starts right up and then after about 5 seconds it just dies. What would cause this?

Do you have the right key? Starting without a Sentry Key does this (ask me how I know *facepalm*).

I'd be amazed if it ran for as long as 5 seconds. If it has anything to do with the security system, it will only run as long as there is fuel in the rail because the security system cuts off the fuel pump if it's set for any reason. Either the key isn't being recognized by the SKIM or the alarm is set. If the alarm is set, you should be hearing the horns, unless of course they are burnt out! If it's not recognizing the key, there should be a "key symbol in a circle with a line thru it" light on the dash.

The mere fact that it starts and runs shows the PCM is getting a signal from the CPS and turning on the ignition, injectors, and fuel pump, but then decides to shut it down.
