What do you mean by "it cuts right back on"? Are you restarting the engine, or or is the engine stalling for a split second and then start running normal?

when it does it at the stop light i just restart the engine, but when i was driving down the road and it did it, it literally cut off and then a few seconds later started back on its on, im guessing cause it was in drive? assuming that it works the same as roll starting a manual?

Could be a cam sensor or crank sensor problem. Ever replace the crank sensor on this Jeep?

i havent, ive actually only had it for about a month now. it runs and drives fine, i even took it to the beach last weekend and it was a monster in the sand didnt have any problems at all, its just these random things its not often that it does it, another thing is when im stopped in like a drive through line or something every now and then theres a rattling sound from the trans it sounds like, and if i let off a little bit and roll forward a tiny bit it stops. which that is also random its not a regular occurring problem so i dont know how to diagnose it when its not happening other than to start removing **** or getting out in the middle of a drive threw to look at it lol

The rattling you describe could be the catalytic converter, is the sound a dull tinging that changes with RPM?

Its the computer. i had the same problem and tried replacing both cam and crank position sensors till i argued with my dad to either sell it or get a new computer thankfully he got the computer for it instead.

Because the ECM fixed your problem does not mean it will fix everybodyy's problem.
This is a tip for everybody: If you're not sure what is wrong and not sure of how to properly diagnose what is wrong, have a shop do all of the diagnostic work for you. That will save you money and a lot of headaches. Throwing good parts after bad and using the "WAG" (wild a$$ guess) method of repair is just wasteful.
