Default slow in drive gear

hi guys, newbie here with a question, i have a grand cherokee 1993 and recently got flooded badly. water in oil, etc. oil was changed, transmission oil was also changed. ran good for a couple of days and suddenly runs vague in drive gear...i have to start in first gear and switch all the way up to drive...is there any relay that might be damaged, computer etc...

Thanx guys.

if you can start it in first gear then you need to clean your neutral safety switch.

that might be part of your problem.

If you did not drive after the flooding, then try flush the transmition, but if you drove then you my have water in torque converter and clutches are slipping. Try flash again and see what happen.

what happens in D, does it start in 4th? then check the TCU harness connectors and the tranny fuse. Symptoms are as if the TCU was disconnected.
