Default Slow Acceleration

Anyone know why my Jeep takes forever to pick up speed? It takes around 20 seconds to hit 60mph with my foot all the way down on the gas pedal. And I never feel or hear the transmission shift.

Are the RPMs high? Or does it take a long time for the engine rev up?

The RPM only hits the 2 - 2.5 mark (low) and it takes forever for the engine to accelerate.

could be retarded timing, could be starving for fuel, hard to diagnose over the web.

I tried the manual shift to 2 and it immediately picked up speed, then I put it back into drive. What do you think it is at this point?

Possible electric shift solenoid problem. You may want a transmission shop to check it out.
