Default 2003 Grand Cherokee V8 - newbie help

Hi guys,

This is my first post.

I've just bought a 2003 Grand Cherokee 4.7 V8 Overland (UK model) and wanted some advice.

The car has a strange wobble from the rear. It feels like the suspension bushes need doing although a guy I work with said Jeeps are renowned for this. It's almost making me sea-sick!

What are the likely causes and fixes and is there some uprated parts or kits that will improve this?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Oh dear, I've just been reading loads of posts about a 'death wobble' and am very worried.

Just for your info, my car is standard and doesn't have a lift. It's done 68k miles too.

well on the jeep cherokee death wobble is actually found in the front...
however you should try taking a look at your sway bar, leaf spring, and bushings to check for wear...that would probably be your best bet.

Welcome to CF.
First I'd check for loose lug nuts. Then check the tires for a shifted belt problem. Then check for a bent rim/wheel. Jack up the rear and put in on stands. Spin the wheel and watch to see if it wobbles as it rotates, and if so see if it's the tire, or wheel. It could also be a bent axle flange.
