Default shock question ?

If I replace my stock front shocks with a pair of Monroe Sensa-Tracs will it raise the front ride height? 2001 GC 4.0

No. Maybe level it for a day since the gas in the shock is new new but truth is, only coils lift. Not shocks

Unless you're talking '60s air adjustable shocks, of course. Have you ever seen street rods with their rear bumpers 3 or 4 feet off the ground? I have. Problem is their air bladders didn't last long. They were made for the front end also. They were originally designed as load levelers for occasional towing.

Look up Monroe Max-Airs

I put Sensa-Trac LT shocks on my 97 GC 4.0 2WD and they raised it up noticeably. I won't call it a full inch, but it is plainly obvious. 3 weeks now and it seems to not have gone back down.

The shocks I took off were Mopars, so likely the original with 162k. Maybe the new ones simply restored stock height. It has a lot stiffer ride than I would like, you feel every bump.

The shocks don't support weight, they only dampen the suspension. They may assist the springs a little, but will settle after some time.
