Default Seafoam

I just seafomed my 94 4.0 and am wondering.. Is it normal to have some smoke from the engine on the initial startup?? Or should I start tearing it apart looking for a leak. It did go away has not come back. I know it should smoke from tailpipe but not sure about engine.

You may have a leak at the manifold gasket.

I just did this too and same thing...smoke from the motor....but my gasket is tight..torqued to spec and high temp sealed.

You would be suprised at how many vehicles/engines will have slight exhaust leaks when you create smoke using products like seafoam. It may be a leak that you can see or hear or find any soot/evidence from but the smoke will show it. Mine did the same thing and I can only be its the exhaust gasket at the cyl head.

Doesnt seem to hurt but my idle did seem more consistent.

I'm normally not one for snake oil additives, but Seafoam does work if used correctly.

seafoam testimonial: bought a junkyard 360 magnum, put it in a car, brought it to the dragstrip and was very dissapointed in the preformance. Did a compresion check and it varied from 65 to125 lbs. Ran 1 can of seafoam threw gas and added 1/2 can to oil, drove it 2 weeks, changed oil and went back to the strip.... car ran over 2 seconds faster. Did another compresion check, it was near 125 on all cyl.

Not to jack but how should I use the seafoam? Just 1/3 into the throttle body? Or do that and half gas half seafoam?

I would run the product at full strength, If you suspect a dirty intake and injectors then maybe run one bottle through intake and one in the fuel tank. You can pour a into throttle body but do it slow so you dont over do it, this method should give the best chance of cleaning the entire intake, throttle body and IAC at the same time. You can also suck it in through a vacuum hose too. I suggest using the vacuum port under the thottle body on the side if the intake. Using that vaccum port should give you the best chance for an even distribution of the product. I have removed an intake before that a the back 3 runners clean and the others were still dirty because the seafoam was sucked through the vacuum port close to the rear of the intake.
