How to understand if bearing(s) is bad or its housing on rear axle ends?

I hear noise these days more than i did in past. IT seems a bearing is broken but... I heard that rear axle shafts at passenger side is problematic on dana 35. any comments?

 

In a lot of cases when an axle bearing is bad you will usually see oil leaking past the seal. Take a look at the outer ends of the axle and see if there is any gear oil leaking. If you do have a bad bearing, you need to look closely at the axle shaft for ANY signs of wear or pitting on the portion where the bearing rides. If there is signs of wear you should replace the shaft, or you'll be doing the job again very shortly.

when i look at to the rear axle, i do not see any leaks or oil marks at ends. is it same for disc brakes or drum brakes?
