Default Question/ Viscous Coupler

My Viscous is bad in my 96 grand cherokee with quadratrak drive. It is a 4.0l. Is their anything I can do until I get the funds to replace the viscous? Like remove the front drive shaft?
Thanks,
-Gary

Yes you can remove the front drive shaft with no problems. I have a 96 with a bad VC and removed my front driveshaft several months ago until I fix it or get another TC.

The way I understand it is any Grand Cherokee UNDER 96, the vehicle will roll in park without the front driveshaft.

Thanks! Can I drive the jeep out of town say 70 miles or so one way?
I have not decided if I want to replace the vc or swap in a 242.

+1 for the 242. That is what I will be doing. I would still set the parking brake if you remove the front driveshaft.

If I decide to change the vc, how do I remove the front and rear drive shafts from the transfer case?
