Viscous Coupler & $ Wheel Drive Switch
OK I'm come to the fact that I need to break down n buy a damn viscous coupler becuase I put in a different transfer case with the same problems arising. My question is where do you buy one besides the dealer where they will last I've seen some on ebay but different sellers give different years they will fit is there a reputable place that just deals in this type of stuff thats affordable. My 2nd question is on my information thing under the radio it says to service the four wheel drive switch and where I do have a viscous coupler how does this switch run to the computer so it spits it out on the information panel I thought it was just the viscous coupler that made it four wheel drive. btw I have a 94 grand cherokee with a 318 n a 249 transfer case

I just bought the 98 version of this kit and am rebuilding my t-case now. Replacing just the VC isn't that hard if you have the right tools and basic mechanical knowledge. It took me about two hours to pull the t-case and probably an equal amount of time if you just do the VC. Replacing the chain is pretty easy too.
Maybe there is a switch on the t-case that tells you that you are in 4H or 4L and is faulty or not connected.
