Unfortunately, you're probably going to have to reprogram yours, but you need a DRB III scan tool and know how to use it. The dealers have these + a manual of procedures. They cost around $3,000.

There are companies out there that will program a rebuilt/used PCM for your WJ, as long as you give them your VIN... then it'll be plug-'n'-play once you get it. After the '95 ZJ, the PCM's had to be programmed to work with the rest of the electronics, but for '93-'95 ZJ's the PCM's are all plug-'n'-play, you just have to worry about the engine size, transmission type, and if you have the security module or not, and find a PCM that matches those parameters.

And there in lies the problem. If you want the best chance of having a PCM replaced with the least hassle,, go to your local dealer. And then go to the bank. They are gonna charge you big time. Second best option. Go to a local parts dealer that can get one from A-Cardone. They will tell you the information about your Jeep you need to provide so the unit can be programmed for your specific car. Another option is on-line through eBay, or general search. However the places that sell those tend to be concentrated in the Miami area of Florida and most have dubious reputations. Regardless where you go, check YELP, the local BBB and maybe some local mechanics before you buy. I went the expensive route last year and went through the dealer. I'd try Cardone, if I had to do it again, I am hoping that I won't.
