over oiled k&n

Default over oiled k&n

So I think my brother over oiled my air filter cone. The oil is leaking off of the filter an I drove for two days now like this. What should i do/expect???

I wouldn't worry too much. I'd just take it out and try to wick off some of the oil with a shop rag or paper towels.

use the cleaner and clean it then respray

have heard of to much oil will mess with the MAF.

On Fords it will especially Mustang and Explorers also does the XJ have a MAF? I over oiled my AFE all it did was drip I cleaned it the next day good to go.

The xj has no maf just a map.

had a K&N in my audi, then my Passat, total junk.
Paper filters better.
you can use an old pillow case and swing that sucker around fast and get the excess oil off of it.

Properly done a KN is one of the best around. Properly done. I know that happens once, new from the factory.
