Default oil filter adapter 4.0 6

My oil filter adapter is leaking between the block and the adapter and I cant figure out how to tighten it. No bolts I can see. And it doesn't seem to want to turn like it threads on. Any one have this off?

Common problem, you might search it here. There is a big allen or torx bolt on the end and that holds the adapter on. Dont worry about tightening it up, you probably need the o-ring kit to reseal it.

In my experience it's a T-60 Torx required to take it off. It's a pain, there's not enough room between the engine and the frame to put a T-60 socket bit on. I ended up driving the bit out of the socket, and using 2 box-end wrenches on the bit. It's pretty tight, I was afraid I was going to explode the wrenches, but it came OK.
The O-rings are available as a kit from the dealer, just bought one yesterday, about $7.00.

I had to take a 1/2" drive torx socket and chop saw it down to fit.
