A Newbee Question and Help Request
New to this site and have a question.
I own a 2004 quite stock Grand Cherokee Limited with a 6 cyc 4L Engine and a 4 speed slush box trans -- and it also has 4 wheel drive..
My question concerns my air conditioner.
The Jeep has a split a/c - heater unit - and sometimes - when we are running around the town the air will put out very hot air on the passenger side -- and very cold air on the driver's side.. If I turn off the engine and let the vehicle sit for a while -- and then turn it back on again.. the air will work fine - just like it is supposed to work.
Have taken the vehicle to a local Jeep dealer, who has attempted to fix the problem - to no avail.. even the engineers at Chrysler are rolling over on this one and have no good info to give to the dealer to get the problem fixed... the dealer tells me that they have replaced the conrol head in the heater-a/c unit and all the actuators -- if this is so, then I would think that the next thing up the line is not those parts but a relay of some sort that when it gets hot from being turned on and off repeatedly - decides to go south for the winter - only this is summer, so maybe its going north.. in any case - it quits working...
OK - long story - sorry ---- any ideas out there in Jeep land???
Thanks ahead of time for your time and trouble...

Caracticus Potts The Mod
Sounds like a bad blend door motor(on dual air systems there is 2), but I have seen a few that the blend door was the part that was broken.....over time where the blend door motor is attached it strips out and can no longer hold it's set position.
