Ok I am a little confused aboutthe CAIs. Where the tubing would connect it doesn't seem like it would fit since the tubing after the box is oval.

I will investigate the possibility of modding the intake pipe for the existing airbox to "shove" more air through the stock filter. I just went out and looked around and theres' not alot of room in front of the airbox as it is... just gonna have to do some thinkin.

They sell a silicone piece that connects the tubing together by that then a clamp on top , u will use the silicone piece to connect it to the intake outlet on the motor as well

Can someone explain what a cat-back is in simple terms? I googled it but ended up with information overload. LOL. I'm still researching it now, but if anyone could just give me the nitty gritty I'd appreciated it.

Ok. I've looked at both Flowmaster and Magnaflow and there is a HUGE price difference. The Flowmaster set-up is around $280 while the Magnaflow is around $780-ish. Yikes. Unless I'm looking at the wrong setup. The mechanic that I go to is a Flowmaster dealer and has his own pipe-bender etc., and said he'd put a Flowmaster on for $100 installed. Thats gotta be just for the muffler though. I'll have to go talk to him some more...

Do the math and see how long it will take to recoup the $400-500 you're going to spend on intake/exhaust (and that's if you do it on the cheap).... With a potential gain of about 2 mpg, ok I'll be generous, 3 mpg... Doesn't sound very efficient anymore, does it? If mpg is your goal, best thing you can do is to put your money into maintenance.

Hit the nail on the head there. Most of these mods will only give you very small gains and you would never recover the cost of putting them on. Now if you like the sound of the flow master go for it. Just don't expect great gains in performance and MPG's. Just keep up your maintenance and drive with a little less right pedal and you will see your biggest gains.

Personally if you want an exhuast that sounds better and all your exhuast pipping is good I would just replace your muffler then I would design and build my own intake setup .. the other guy above me is correct

Also, EVERYBODY, remember this. ANY mods you do to ANY vehicle will reduce the resale value unless you find the right buyer! If you're only interested in having fun and want your vehicle to be cool, disregard everything I just said.
