Exclamation New door issues

Ok, so I noticed a couple weeks ago when I put on my new door that my rear hatch light as well as the ring around the ignition were staying on when alll the doors are shut and turn off when you open a door and I cant for the life of me figure out why. Also none of the windows work anymore. Im at a loss as to what to do.

The door is off of a 96 so I took the harness out of my old door and put in the new door. It was supposed to be plug and play but it didnt work out that way.

Any ideas would be helpful, thanks.

You swapped the harness, but are you running the 96 switch cluster or the 94? There may be a difference.

94. I used the old door panel and harness. All the plugs for the windows and locks matched up.

Here's something stupid to check. If you press on the cargo area light lens, it will click and the light will stay on, until it times out. Maybe the light got bumped and and it's in this function now. At least that's how my WJ works.

If my done lights get clicked on they stay on. Ask me how i know lol. Its been like this a couple weeks, I pulled the bulb until I got time to mess with it. The ring around the ignition really confuses me

What that tells you is the BCM is on and ready for you to start the engine.

Ok, I just never remember it staying on all the time. its on constantly unless a door is open, which is killing my battery i think

Well....yeah.. that's what I'm saying. The BCM is still active and drawing power waiting. How it got that way, IDK. With all the doors closed and no key in the ignition, it should go to sleep.

OH....wait! Isn't there a switch in the door latch that tells the BCM whether the door is locked or not? There is in mine, but I'm a few years ahead of you.
