Model: Cherokee (XJ)

Hey, everyone! I have a 96 Jeep Grand Cherokee, 2wd, with the 4.0, 6 straight. I've been having a problem recently. My Jeep has 270,000 miles on it and the engine is in the best condition possible for it's age. But, however, my Jeep won't reach over around 2,500 RPM's in drive. It'll exceed 2,500 RPMs in 1st gear,
2nd gear, neutral, and park, but it won't in drive. I'm not sure if this is related but another problem I'm having is when I accelerate fast my air condition switches from vents to defrost until I let off my gas pedal and it goes back to vents. And my Jeep is also very abnormally sluggish when my AC is on high. Thanks everyone!
