Default ISO 05-10 Jeep Grand Cherokee? Towing?

Hi guys, I'm looking for a used 05-10 GC Limited that's 4WD with the Hemi engine. It will need to pull a 25ft mini cigarette style boat/trailer combo that weighs 5500-6000lbs. The trailer is all galvanzied 4" block steel (it is heavy) and it's equipped with surge brakes. I plan on switching to an all aluminum trailer this winter when the prices go down so the total load weight will go down. I currently use a 05 Dodge Ram 1500 SLT to tow it to the lake, but my newly licensed son wants my truck. So I'm looking for a used dual purpose vehicle.

So are there any years to stay away from? 05-10?
Does anyone know if the tow package comes with an extra transmission cooler?
I'm not crazy about the all wheel drive thing, any known issues with these? It is bugging me so much that I'm looking at 04 GC's with the 4x4 selector.
Current GC Limited owners am I asking to much from a GC to pull the boat with either style trailer.

Thanks Rob

Call the dealer and ask them? Usually they go out of their way to help with questions like that. Sounds like your basic question is can I tow a 6000 lb trailer with this. My guess is, no.

I'm thinking an SRT8 would handle it, but I'm pretty sure a WJ would have a problem because it just doesn't have the ***** your truck does and the whole powertrain would be overtaxed to the limit. Personally, I wouldn't feel comfortable with anything short of a Cummings.

Well yes and no,
So are there any years to stay away from? 05-10?????
Current 2005-2010 GC Limited owners how much boat are you towing?

I agree with Dave and 97grand that I might be asking to much of the powertrain from a WK. That being said, someone out there with a wild hair has already tried it. where are they at on this forum.

Look at it this way. You'd be towing 6000 lbs with a 4000 lb vehicle.
