limited vs laredo
Forgetting all the fancy trim stuff, my question is related to the ride. I drove the Limited and it seems much smoother on local streets and the Laredo not so much. Dealer said it's my imagination and they are both identical.....any comments. I am used to a Lexus rx350 and prefer smoother ride but am now retired and the jeep is in a much better price range. Will buy limited if it really is different, but otherwise laredo better price.

Are you talking about old Jeep XJs or some modern Jeep model? This an XJ forum.
If its XJ trims you're comparing...most of these things over the years have been prodded, poked, aftermarket parts galore, modified, mistreated, rode hard and put away wet and who knows what by previous owners.
If kept stock over the years, OEM parts wear out like springs, shocks, etc.
In other words, XJ's are what they are.
If all you're concerned about is the ride then buy whatever you're comfortable with.

I hate to send you to another forum, but you might try jeepgarage.com. Those guys are more street & performance oriented. They like shiny chrome and bells&whistles. The 2017 is too new for us off-roaders to know too much about. Or care for that matter.

The Laredo used to have less insulation on the base trim packages before they deleted the Laredo X with leather (they put more insulation in those). I was given a 2011 Laredo E Package loaner from my dealership to use while my 2014 Limited was in the shop, and I noticed a noisier ride due to less insulation and thinner materials.
For older Jeeps, I can tell you that my base 2002 Laredo E Package is very noisy, and when I took off the front door panel, I only noticed that plastic stuff on the metal part of the door held on with that sticky, nasty black goop, and 1 or 2 pieces of foam on the plastic part of the door panel. Anything above the E Package has more insulation which leads to a quieter and more supple ride. We once owned a 2002 Laredo F Package and it was quieter and more supple due to more insulation.
