I was testing the radio wires in my GF's jeep and now it wont stay running.
I had to jump it because the battery was dead.
It will start when being jumped but wont stay running.
If you take your foot off the gas it just dies.
If you keep your foot on the gas it will stay running.
What did I screw up?

I've had my battery drained by the kids clicking on those stupid overhead console lights. I hate those things. Anyway, sometimes after getting the Jeep jumped it does the same thing you describe. After it runs a while and gets charged, it runs as normal.

Thank you, you were right.
I threw in a spare battery and it started right up. I threw in the old battery to give it a good charge, since the other didn't fit right. All seems well.
After trying to keep it running for a few minutes, we probably gave up right before the ECU was done learning.
Off to get a new battery today!

I'm glad to be of any help at all. I've had to sit there for about 15-20 minutes before with my foot on the gas, holding it at 1000 rpms. Good times!
