It's locked up

Default It's locked up

I have a 1995 Cherokee sport four-door was driving it parked it like normal then when I got ready to leave put it out of park into reverse and it acts like it's locked up put it in drive and it acts like it's locked up what could be wrong never made any unusual noises or nothing while I was driving it

Yes it is , it sounds just like you had you foot on the brakes hard and tried to take off from a dead stop in forward or reverse

You could put the automatic transmission in neutral shift transfer case to neutral and it will roll but when you put it in drive and four wheel low four wheel high or 2 Will Dr. it acts like it's locked up

It makes me think transfer case is locked up but what are the odds of it not making no noise while driving it park that thing then come back later and it is locked up and won't move

It is hard to diagnose something like this over the net with little info, but I think he might have one axle in high range and one in low. If I do that with the atlas, it won't move an inch, just like his

Just like the old chevy three speeds would do. Once in awhile you could stick them in two gears at one time if you tried to shift them too fast on the tree. It would lock them up solid...
