Default Hurricane Sandy aftermath: issues with 1994 Cherokee lights.. please help!

I own a 1994 Cherokee Laredo and I live in New Jersey, as I'm sure many of you do. After Sandy hit my car was in water (it did not take on any water.. just halfway up the wheels). the next day I noticed that my blinker and tail lights were dimly lit even though the car was off and the lights were in the off position. I found the fuse that the lights are connected to and pulled it. it turned the lights off, the only issue is that the fuse wasn't blown and I put in two new fuses (with the car off) and the lights still were dimly lit. sounds like a short to me but I'm a newb when it comes to cars. any info would help. I need my car for work and need some assistance. Thanks Jeep fam.

Sounds like you got some windblown salt water in the wiring harness somewhere. Probably in the Power Distribution Center under the hood. You're bleeding battery power into the lighting circuit somewhere. If it were mine, I would flush it down with fresh water under the hood and let it dry out. Not an option where you are with the lack of drinking water available. You need to get it out of the area and give the whole car a bath. Salt water will wreak havoc with the electronics.
