Default how much are these tires worth?

i have 4 bridgestone dueler revo 2, 285/70/17(33s). they have less than 10,000 miles. they are guaranteed 50,000 miles

discount tire has them for $205 new

i listed them for $600($150 per tire) and people are offering 300-400.

IMHO if they will get 50,000, and they have 10,000(they have less but we will say 10,000 for easiness) they have well over half their life left, so new they would be $800, half would be $400, that cant be too much to ask considering they have OVER half their life left. right?

i will take less than $600 but not less than $400. what would u do?

As with anything in life, something is only worth what someone else is willing to pay for it. You have to ask yourself two questions, How fast do you want to get rid of the tires?, and How bad do you need the money?

Two choices, lower the price to make a quick decent sale or stick to your guns and wait it out which may take a while.

IMHO, I would ask $400 firm, which is $100 per tire, to me, this sounds fair.

I agree...I do not think you will get anyone to buy them at $600. $400 would be a good fair price for you and the buyer.

sold for 400, but thats crazy because me as a buyer, if the seller had proof they only had 10,000 miles(like i did), i would want to just pay 400, but i would give 500 because thats saving me 300 from buying new and i should get pretty close to 40,000 from them.

300$ isnt worth 10,000 miles

Did you sell them as is or with a warranty? Does the 50K mile guarantee transfer to the new owner since he does not have a receipt proving he bought them new? These are all things that affect the final price that the buyer has to contend with. The buyer is taking as much of a risk on buying used tires as you are selling them at far below what you were asking. Its all basic economics.

Tires are like the car itself. They are new until they leave the lot, then they are just used. New cars will never sell used for an amount close to new and neither will tires.

At $400 I think you did good.

I have multiple 16 and 17 inch tires at the shop. I cant give them away for $40.00 each. All of them have 5/32's to 8/32's left on them. Tried Craigslist multiple times, no dice...........................

+1

I sold $1200 worth of tires with half of their life left for just $270, tires (and cars) depreciate exponentially. It would be nice if the percentage of tread left translated to a percentage of the initial value, but that's just not how it works.

I see it all the time around here, people will buy new, roll around for a few months and try to sell them off for 80% of the purchase price. They sit on Craigslist until they sell for 40% or less.
