Yes, I have a 2001 GC Laredo 4x4 w/4.0 Selec-Trac and my rear diff is a limited slip.
In 2000 the LS Diff was optional on all WJs except V8s, Quadra Trac 1 and Quad Trac 2s. Assuming the owner doesn't know if they have a LS Diff or not, what would it hurt to add the additive if it is not a LS Diff?
Now what would it hurt if they did not add it and it is a LS Diff?
In any event, 2 quarts of fluid is all you will need, and even then you will have some left over. And in "my" personal opinion, I would add the Friction Modifier additive to the rear axle, sold at most auto parts stores, just in case.

I don't think it is a limited slip differential. Patriot is correct. I just needed to know how much to buy. I pulled ye cover off, to check what the growling/grinding noise was. Here is no obvious damage.
Now, how do I know if it is a ls differential or not? I honestly didn't see anything inside my differential that looked like a clutch, BUT I'm not sure. I just saw a ring, pinion, and spider gear.
I have heard hat when a differential makes noise, it's usually too late. However, there were no shavings, at all. No missing teeth, no gouges, no anything. I feel like I dodged a bullet, here.
I should note that I have limited experience with this type of maintenece, but I'm also a pretty smart guy, and learn fast. Any and all help is appreciated.

Indeed the fastest way for us to answer for you is for you to post a picture of what it looks like. Post, turn the shafts a little bit and post another.. (just incase its a weird angle and we cant see)
Oh and by the way welcome.. to the world of walking into part stores and having to educate the guy behind the counter...
My trips;
I need this for a 97 explorer
This for a 96 Ranger
This from an 86 Chevy 1500
etc..
